Practitioner guide

Fleet analysis needs both signals and limits.

A useful analysis doesn't just explain what looks interesting — it also explains what the data can't prove.

Start at the company

Narrow by industry, geography, and operating status. Then check the source's observation time and whether the company's location is precise or a centroid.

Segment the fleet

Break down permitted vehicle associations by type, make, model year, and fuel type. Show unknown fields as unknown — never fill them in with assumptions.

Assess the association

A source-reported or inferred association is not the same as legal ownership. Effective period, evidence type, confidence, and review status must travel with the association.

Use the score to prioritise, not to conclude

An opportunity score can rank research work, but it is not evidence of intent to sell. Version, signals, missing data, and calculation time must stay visible.
